Q: How can I make a tent stable in the wind/rain and what precautions should I take to prevent any damage to the tent?
All sidewalls should be taken down once the wind starts blowing. Normally, our pop-up tents are strong enough to stand steady against light winds. However, if the wind is too severe, the tent should be taken down. If necessary, there are three hose in the foot pad. These holes allow stakes to be driven through to help hold the tent to the ground.
Because we cannot be there to set the item for you, and we have no control over your local weather, wind, or soil conditions, it is ultimately up to you to determine if your assembly and anchoring of this canopy is sufficient. This canopy is intended to protect against the effects of sun, light rain, light snow, etc.
Choose a calm day to set up your tent, We are not to be held responsible for damage to the unit or the contents from acts of nature. It is ALWAYS recommended that you secure your tent properly with storm straps and ground pegs when you put up the structure. Any shelter that is not anchored securely has the potential to fly away causing damage. We are not responsible for any shelter that blows away.
Proper Anchoring system selection is your responsibility. Heavy duty anchors can be bought separately and are not included in this product.
We are not responsible for damage to the unit sustained while erected in windy or other adverse weather conditions such as rain, snow, etc. Please note as with all products of this type, it is not recommended to be left up in the wind. If it is a windy day, please remove sidewalls as the wind pressure will put stress on the walls and may lead to them ripping to cover of the unit. We advise customers NEVER to leave them up overnight, particularly with the roof and side panels on because gusts of wind and unforeseen adverse weather can damage the unit. We cannot be held responsible for such damage. Any temporary shelter of this kind can be damaged due to them being left up in adverse weather. We are not responsible for any shelter that is damaged by the above actions. Customer is responsible to purchase replacement parts for their unit.
Immediately remove any accumulated water, snow or ice from the roof structure with a broom, mop or other soft-sided instrument. If you fail to do so, the weight of the water, snow or ice will damage your tent. It is not designed to hold the loads that can accompany wind, rain, snow, or ice storms. This structure is not tested for specific snow, rain, ice, or wind loads. Allow the canopy to dry completely before storing if exposed to wet conditions. If not , it will mildew. Manufacturer is not responsible for these damages caused by the above actions. The owner of the tent has the sole responsibility for payment of the replacement parts if any of the above occurs with the purchase.
Q: Tent/Greenhouse Use during Winter Conditions?
Freezing weather conditions can be problematic for event tents, but they do not have to be. Tents, canopies, structures, greenhouses and shelters are not designed to carry any type of snow and/or ice loading. Also, plastic products can become brittle when forced to endure extremely cold environments, which can make them prone to cracking and shattering. The materials manufactured for our units are not recommended to be put into use if any form of freezing weather is present or expected (i.e. – wind, ice, snow, etc.).
If units are forced to endure extremely cold environments, they will lose some of its pliability and it can actually become damaged if it is flexed with enough pressure. If you decide to have your item assembled while it is extremely cold (not recommended), you will need to keep the interior of the tent heated and also keep moving the snow away from the base of your unit. If you cannot heat the tent, then the snow and ice will make the tent too heavy just like the roof of any other structure and your walls will experience what was discussed above.
Please be aware that for any products that are damaged due to any act of nature, inclement weather and/or being left up overnight unattended (Not Recommended), the customer is responsible for the purchase of ALL replacement parts. Our company cannot be held responsible for products damaged due to any of the reasons listed above.
Q: What is the difference between "Water Resistant" and "Waterproof"?
Our company manufactures units that state they are "Water Resistant" or "Waterproof".
When our listing states that an item is "Water Resistant", that means that the material used to construct the top and/or walls will not allow water to penetrate the fabric itself. The material used for our "Water Resistant" canopies cannot have the seams heat sealed. With the seams not being able to be heat sealed, water may be able to leak through this area when rain is present.
When our listing states that an item is "Waterproof", that means that the material used to construct the top and/or walls will not allow water to penetrate the fabric itself and when rain is present, water will not be able to leak through the seams. Water will not be able to leak through the seams because this material is able to have the seams heat sealed. If excessive precipitation is allowed to pool on the top cover, the stress from the precipitation on the heat sealed seams may cause it to disconnect or burst and liquid will be allowed to seep through the stitches. Customers cannot allow excessive precipitation to distorted the sealing of the seams. If this happen, it will not be covered under the warranty for the product.
Q: Do I need to request a replacement when I find a pin hole on my top cover material after assembling the unit?
No, all pin holes can be repaired easily by the customer. A pin hole can be unintentionally created during the manufacturing phase of the material. Since they are small and undetectable, they are not found until the unit is assembled and light can be visibly seen coming through. Pin holes can be repaired using the following methods:
- Pin holes and abrasion marks can be repaired with liquid vinyl. Using a small applicator, such as a toothpick or nail, apply a dot of liquid vinyl to the affected area. The liquid vinyl is self-leveling and will cure in approximately one hour. This product is available in most colors of tent vinyl. Liquid vinyl is also good for repairing holes up to 1/2" in diameter or cuts 2" and under. Tape the backside of the hole using masking tape. Apply the liquid vinyl to the hole until it is completely covered. Allow three (3) hours drying time, then remove the tape from the back and apply liquid vinyl allowing another three (3) hours drying time.
- Pin holes and abrasion marks can also be repaired with Stick-On Vinyl patches. They are available in most colors and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. This product is simple to apply. Simply peel off the paper backing and apply to the area to be repaired. Use a vinyl roller to ensure that the patch has been applied evenly and firmly in place.
Before calling in or sending an email request, please locate your purchase order number so you will be able to provide this information to our representatives. They will need this information so they can verify that the unit was purchased from our company and to make sure that our customers receive the correct assembly instructions.
This return policy will not cover any damage that occurs due to neglect, wind, rain, snow, ice, fire, or any other act of nature and does not cover any damage that might have result from the canopy or tent not being properly secured. Delta Canopy will not be liable for any indirect or consequential damages that might be cause by any product that we sell.
